Southern Scapes began with a simple vision: to create beautiful outdoor spaces while making a real difference in people’s lives. Founded by Brandon Proffitt on February 20, 2017, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, the company was born out of both a love for the outdoors and a deep desire to serve the community. What started as a small landscaping operation quickly grew into something much more — a business rooted in restoration, both of land and lives.

We specialize in landscaping, outdoor maintenance, and storm cleanup services for residential and commercial clients throughout Oak Ridge and the surrounding areas. Over the years, our team has earned a reputation for hard work, integrity, and a heart for service. That same spirit has guided us into partnerships with organizations like FEMA, where we’ve contributed to large-scale storm recovery efforts — including helping with the recent flood disaster in North Carolina.

But what truly sets Southern Scapes apart is our mission beyond the job site. Brandon, having walked his own path of faith and recovery, saw a unique opportunity to give back. Today, Southern Scapes offers work and mentorship to men coming out of addiction and transitional housing. By hiring individuals from local halfway houses, we help provide not just a paycheck, but a second chance — a stable environment, responsibility, and the dignity of meaningful work. For many, it’s the first step toward a new life.
